Polarfront is an electronic music project by Donghwa Lee, a producer, live performer and DJ.
By reflecting a series of complex and intricate changes as a phenomena, he concentrates on translating the points and the boundaries from collisions of different forms and matters, into an audible and visible format.
As an artist, he continuously presents fresh releases by participating in various other projects and compilation albums, followed by his original artworks: “Polarfront,” 2015, “Baikal,” 2018 and “Voyage” in 2019.
His live performances and international DJ career includes, but are not limited to: “Dommune,” in Tokyo, “Tresor” and “About blank” in Berlin. Most recently, a new experiment has been underway with the establishment of the “PF Lab,” a music label, and is focusing on delivering artistic endeavors.
Polarfront 는 프로듀서이자 라이브 퍼포먼스, DJ로 활동하는 이동화의 전자음악 프로젝트이다.
다른 성질의 물질이나 형태가 만나는 지점과 경계에서 발생하는 복잡하면서도 변화가 심한 현상들을 소재로 삼아 다양한 형식의 음악과 시각적 작품으로 만들어낸다. 또한, 그의 작업 방향성은 ‘Polarfront’ 사전적 정의에도 함의되어 있다. 경계와 지점의 소재는 사람, 사물, 그리고 자연과 같이 무한한 가능성을 시사한다.
2015 셀프 타이틀인 <Polarfront> 발매를 시작으로 2018 <Baikal>, 2019 <Voyage> 를 발매하였고, 그 외 여러 프로젝트와 컴필레이션 앨범에 참여하여 꾸준한 앨범 활동을 진행하고 있다. 국내를 비롯하여 도쿄의 <Dommune>, 베를린의 <Tresor> <About blank> 등의 해외에서 라이브 퍼포먼스와 디제이로 활발히 활동 중이다. 최근 <PF Lab> 을 설립하여 새로운 음악적 시도를 진행 중이다.
